Most of this record was written by Tom while at university, and had even been recorded at least once before FDIM came together.

Initially, Tom had essentially assembled a backing band to record his songs for posterity more than anything, with no intention of writing further material or even performing live.

As our studio time grew closer we decided that a one-off gig was in order, and thanks to our friend Alan from Darwin & The Dinosaur (darwinandthedinosaur.bandcamp.com), who recommended us to local promoters Wombat Wombat, we played our first show opening for Pulled Apart By Horses at Norwich Arts Centre.

Meanwhile, we'd recorded these songs from 24th-28th May '09 (hence the name). With no real idea of how we could or should sound we kept everything loud and fast and bashed it all out very quickly, while having lots of fun in the studio, and the day after our first gig we went back for a very hungover final mix.
