about

We hadn't really thought about what we were going to do once we had started gigging. Just write some more and play some more, really.

Then after one of our Rumsey Wells showcases, we got chatting to Russ, a friend of Renzo's who had just moved from London to Norfolk and just so happened to be a producer.

Russ (planitb.bandcamp.com), who had worked with Sugababes and Daniel Bedingfield, among others, and was at the time knocking out Japanese number 1s, was keen to work with a rock band and suggested that we visit his studio for a chat and a play around.

What followed was around four months of sporadic visits to Russ's studio in his converted attic (rechristened The Hit Factory, and home to his gold disc) where we re-recorded four of our favourites along with two newuns.

We loved going to Russ's. He and his family were always welcoming and the sessions always involved plenty of booze (something which we had been unable to indulge in when recording "...for the lights", partly because we had so little time and also because we started recording at 10am every day). Russ became our honorary "fifth day in may" turning our humble little songs into huge-sounding barnstormers.

We unveiled our "new" sound in February 2010 with another Arts Centre show (probably our finest) with Darwin & The Dinosaur, Science vs Romance and Fiorentina and followed it up with gigs at the Brixton Windmill (with racist dog patrolling the roof) and more back in Norwich.

Unfortunately by this stage we were all pretty fed up with musical matters and decided to call it a day before unleashing these recordings, which merely limped their way onto Facebook shortly after our final gig.
